TateMadeModern is a design studio rooted in nostalgia, creativity, and the quiet beauty of everyday childhood.

Each design is born out of a love for soft textures, harmonious color palettes, and the moments that make childhood feel safe and memorable—favorite clothes worn on repeat, well-loved patterns, and the small delights that shape a child’s story.

I’m Aubrey, the designer behind TateMadeModern. My work spans surface pattern design, illustration, and handmade goods, and is shaped by life with my family, a love of creating with my hands, and an appreciation for things that age beautifully over time (antique stores are my favorite places to hang out).

Many TateMadeModern designs come to life through my apparel and product brand, Junie & James Co., where they’re worn, gifted, and woven into milestone moments and everyday family life. Others are licensed for fabric, wallpaper, and digital use by small businesses, which is one of my favorite parts of this work.
